Tech Tip: Diameter and Degree Symbols in Drafting Notes

You can insert extended character set symbols into Drafting Notes by holding down the Alt key and typing in numbers. Release the Alt key and character will appear. Two helpful characters:

Diameter: í [Alt+0237] Degree: ø [Alt+0248]

These will appear as the correct symbols in Mastercam.

Watch for complete re-write of Drafting in the upcoming V8 release.

In V8 under Drafting Notes, you'll be able to pick from a dialog box.

For the actually Alt Codes, start numbering the top row at 32. The second row starts at 48.

For example, to output the +/- symbol in V7, the bottom row starts at 240. The number is then 241 for the +/- symbol. Under Drafting Notes, type [Alt+0241] to get the +/- symbol.
