FACETING IN SURFACING

Ive noticed this years ago but it was never an issue untill now. using parallel finish surface to machine a spherical part we get faceting effect(small flats) although out filter is set to off or even .0005 we still get a irregular surface. I assume somone must have had this same problem surfacing? any suggestions? cool.gif

It's because your program is point to point. I used to solve this problem with a type of toolpath that Mcam doesn't use anymore that would output arc moves along the surface. See if you can find a way to make your program output arcs instead of point to point.
