In order to receive a file from our machines with the correct file # in MCV8

we have to send it to MCV8 twice. (I was told this problem would be solved

with an updated version in mid Sept.)? In lathe we don't seem to have a thread

option on the menu, and we also understand there are some issues with the

stretch factors concerning plotters. MC6 is the only version that works

correctly for our application. Are there issues being addressed or are there

fixes we are not aware of. Please advise.

Thanks Much,

Dan Tischler

1.) Communications problem is a bug the fix will be available when 8.1 is released.

2.) Toolpath next menu Thread.

3.) I am unaware of any problem with strecth I tried an example and found that stretch was functioning as I would expect on v8 with an hp650c.

Problems that are reported are always addressed. If you find a problem with the software you should report it to your mastercam dealer or forward problem along with all steps to reproduce problem to [email protected]

Greg,

We have two lathe seeds and toolpaths next does not bring up thread. We can only reach it from the operations Manager.

Our plotter is a Houston Insturments DMP-60 Series now TMS Plotter Specialists. We downloaded their md967 driver. We use this plotter for plotting 50X size layout sheets for use with Sheffield optical grinders. Its very close tolerance work so the layouts need to be right on. In MC6 we could dial in the exact 50X line lenghts using the streach factors. With both MC7 and 8 we can"t. We've talked to support a number times trying to pin point the problem. The gentleman in support we were working with left MC. So we're back at square one with alot of time in this this issue. The last we heard is that there is an issue with the software. Right now we would like to know if we can solve this problem with what we have.

Thanks,

Dan

Dan - In response to the Threading problem from Mastercam's Support page:

http://www.mastercam.com/Support/v8/L8txt.mpk

L8TXT.MPK 7-10-00 164 KB - The Thread toolpath menu item was incorrectly labeled Drill in the Entry version of Lathe 8.This newer file will correct this mistake, just replace the old text file with this new Lathe8.txt file packed in L8TXT.MPK.
