My Precision M4400 recognizes 3.48GB of the total 4GB in RAM.

 

Maybe your Graphics Card is taking a specific amount of your RAM?

I know. I could totally decimate everyone here, if i had any cash left for the hard drives.

But here are the Mac results!

Macbook 2.4 Ghz dual core, 4Gb DDR3 1066Mhz ram, 256Gb SSD, Leopard 10.5.7 running vmware fusion with win xp

 

9min 47sec. It did better than i thought for running in a virtual machine!

Steve, the only thing that may have changed since the last time I ran the benchmark was I added 2 more GB of RAM for a total of 4GB. That should NOT make that much difference.

James, hmmm, guess I'll have to put X4 on the ol lappy and try it out- It runs the bench in X3 in 3:20, so if your gain is relative, I should be in the under 1 min range...yeeha giddiyup!

I've been using X4 for most production stuff since B2 and testing since B1. Almost got bit hard once but had a backup.

kenny_wallace go to boot camp and you will drop min off the time I am under 2min with my mac book pro 2.6 with Xp pro.

 

VMware is good on the Mac Pro because of the resources behind it.

One question about using the GeForce 9800 GTX+ video card. Should I change the config/screen graphics support settings to GDI? I currently have it set to "OpenGL" and the "Disable front buffer" box is ticked (settings used by my old Quadro FX1400).

OpenGL, disabling the front buffer on a GeForce doesn't affect anything, it doesn't have the front buffer. Quadro's only

I think my old Dell crunched that file in 13 and change back in 07.

I went to the rollout meeting in Tulsa yesterday and loaded X4 on my Dell M90 laptop today. X3 ran the benchmark at 8min. 5 sec. X4 runs it at 3 min. 1 sec. pretty nice speed jump.
