58.16 seconds running X5 and the machine in my siggy

I got this one from Dell refurb for $2100 and upgraded the hard drive to a Western Digital 400 gig 10K Velociraptor

I have my sim home for the weekend, but dont have the sample parts installed on my home pc. I also dont have the install disk at home. Is there somewhere I can download the file from so I can benchmark my home pc?

Also ATI Video cards seem to work much better with MasterCam then they used to. I didn't have to adjust any settings or switch any drivers to get this card to work good.

make sure you clean out your regen folder between runs... this machine does subsequent runs

in about 20 seconds once the regen files are crunched.

if you only ran it one time that is a good time..

Look in system config/files and see where your regen files are going

then look in that folder

you'll see some regen files named

HS DIECAST PART-2.rgn (_3 AND _4)

 

Once those files have been created, subsequent regns are MUCH quicker..

If you're going to run it again, you need to delete those files to get a good test

Still have some minor graphics issues but he new rig comes in at;

 

1:7.174 Sec... and 8.112 the second time around. It's a keeper. I shoudl be able to get this rig below 1:0 min with some fine tuning.

 

My old best time was 2:00 flat.

 

Definitely an improvement.

CHanged the graphics drivers from the installed (AutoCAD WHQL specific) to the latest WHQL drivers from NVidia... went a fwe seconds quicker.

 

1m 4.555s the first go around

7.727s the second time through.

 

GOing in the right direction.

My work machine from Solidbox runs the benchmark in 1.35

the Dell refurb in my siggy ran it 55 seconds the first day I had it.

WIth my firewalls and A?V software installed, it's probably slower now though

Okay, I got my new computer a few weeks ago. I finally found time to run the benchmark regen. Here's the comparison from old to new:

 

Old Computer:

2m 38s

 

New Computer:

1m 1.377s

 

WAY cool!
