my computer RIP

today while importing .xt file my box locked up. I restarted and bios wouldn't load. nvidia geforce boot looped until all I got was a intermittent red flashing light. Maybe mother board? couldn't be a virus no way. time for a new box.

I now have a new PC. About two weeks ago I was in line for a new pc from the IT dept. Got the new pc set, forgot to get some files from the old pc, booted it. DEAD. hard drive died, mother board unresponsive etc.. well I guess they all gotta die sooner or later.

you can use you old hard drive and transfer to the new one,clone you drive good luck

Just install the old HDD's as slaves. You can use them as is or pull the data off onto new ones. I have done both including a raid setup that blew up.

got my box back this am. was the mother board as I suspected since bios wounldn't load. good as new. now it's back to work.

the first thing i do in an issue like that is pull the hard drive cable. If it gives you a no operating system error you know it got past the bios and is the drive...if you dont get that then you know you have a hardware/ bios issue.

kinda wierd but since the new mother board I get a greyed out background in the lead in/out menu and some others. I'll probably do another repair sequence to see if that helps. Doesn't seem to affect the anything but graphically. Everything still works in other words. Had to knock off early today to serve jury duty down here in whoville. I'll get on it in the morning. I'm swamped at work. Any other ideas on the grey out?
