sticky situation

We have a new Haas TM3p vertical mill, its a awsome machine, with one exception, whenever we run tools longer then an hour , the tool tends to stick to the spindle, and this is with proper machine condtions and feeds and speeds.

My question is that is this a common character on these machines, and is there any remedy for this condtion?

happens to everyone at one time or another. Clean out the taper in the spindle and clean the taper on the holder. then spray some of that holder lube on it. I can't remember what is in it but your tool rep should be able to handle this.

We have a Haas VF-3 that runs tools for extended periods of time and they stick quite often. What I do is clean the taper on the tool holder and the spindle taper, then I spray the tool holder taper and spindle taper with CRC DryGlide Dry Film Lubricant that I get from MSC. HTH

Heat, no doubt, is adding something to this equation. If you have one of the coolant manifolds with multiple nozzles, try pointing one directly at the tool holder's V flange to help keep the temp down.

Just ding up the taper in the spindle so it won't stick. The ding will create a gap and no more sticky.

Greg surely your just kidding about intentionatly dinging the taper...if someone who worked for me did that I would fire him.
