Machining STL File

I imported an STL file from a customer and want to 3D machine it. How can this be done?. I am using 8.1 and can't find a way of doing this as there are no surfaces. It will not render also is there a special setting to do this?

you have a STL in a dir .

Now do toolpaths

Surface

Check on "STL File" so it says yes Or "Y".

say done

pick a tool.(at this time there is no geo on the screen)

set your setting in the Parameter pages.

then it will prompt you for the STL file.

Pick the file from the Dir.

Now it will shade it for you and you are done.
