Unstable X2 File

The file was ok then became unstable. In some views all the geometry would disappear. If I use the dynamic view icon and drag across the blank screen, the part reappears rotating, but drag it back and it disappears again.

Does file contain a solid?

If yes make sure it doesn't need to be regenerated. (no red x)

If it's simply the views that are jazzed up, try Screen-Regenerate Display List. This is different than Repaint.

I regenerated the display list and all the solids and did not fix it. Then I copied the file and deleted all the tools and ops and changed to a different machine, still not right. Tried different lighting in the shading and different background color with no success. The geometry is visible in any view except top,bottom,left,or right. It is visible in front or back view and isometric view.

Ok, I used "save some" and saved all the geometry to a new file. That file is good, what a relief, still have 3 more ops to do.
