X4 MU1 Verify

Just installed MU1 here.

So far, so good.

Verify looks normal.

However, verify still crashes for me on large multiaxis toolpaths. I have the quality setting turned down as low as it goes. The toolpath will run, but when it gets to the end and I try to save the stl file I get the 'fatal error' message and the stl won't save.

This also happened to me in X4 pre MU1, but I thought that was going to be fixed. Sorry I can't post an example because of proprietary issues. wink.gif

Has anyone else experienced these verify crashes?

Yes Jim, so far only once,

it crashes on complex 3-d files over

300 meg, I just opened up and older X2 file saved it

as X4. I then closed it and re-opened it, that seems to help sometimes but not this time.

(No biggy I will just use X2 for the EC's.)

I know that issue was addressed for X2 and was missed in X3 also.

Luckily I have been getting smaller jobs lately.

I am starting a new job in a few days that should

the 400 meg mark. I will beta it in X$ for them.

I do ... very annoying ... but I don't rely on it ... use Vericut instead ...

When I create the file in X4 MU1, I don't have the problem of "black" in verify (so far) ... but if created in X2 or X3, then every time, large or small, the front faces are black ...

Cannot afford to replace part of my MC software with

new 'different software because MC survives on an

old dos kernel. I have never used a software to

date, that the verify is so messed up.

I had a part verify with a feed gouge.

Can not see it in back plot???

I showed this to My reseller, but it WAS prior to MU1 release.

Too much 3rd party software, IMO.

It would be nice if it would function as intended and with some speed. I love the interface, the way it automatically sets up the cutters and checks the holders, the color coding for comparing an .stl is wonderful, but I'm often plagued with crashing (when using an .stl that was created in MCX4 as stock) or the inability to save an .stl file on large files. Sometimes it can't even complete verifying on a large model. If I have multiple setups, I can't turbo verify in other planes but the top plane. That plain stinks!

I have had this problem since MU1 PC2 came out. I had no issues with PC1 (beta) then I all my verify stuff went black.

IT's upgraded my video drivers this morning to no avail. That was an ATI FireGL v5100 (128mb ram!). So, they swapped it out for an Nvidia Quadro FX 1800 (768mb ram =] ) and my verify is perfect again.

I know this was an expensive way to fix somethign that IMHO shouldnt have glitched to start with, but! it did fix it. And that makes me happy. smile.gif

Version is 6.14.0011.8208 for my video drivers, btw.

Just thot I would let you all know.

Hi guys,

We have a fix! Go to Mastercam.com to download it. Below are the installation instructions:

1) Download the file mcverify-fix.zip from the above link.

2) Open your Mastercam X4 MU1 installation directory.

3) Close X4 MU1 if it is open.

4) Rename “MCVerify.dll”. This will prevent the file from being overwritten by the new *.dll.

5) Extract mcverify-fix.zip into the root of your X4 MU1 installation.

I'd like to sincerely thank all of you for your help with this issue. The graphics card and driver information helped us track down the problem. I would also like to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. If there are any problems, please respond here or send an email to [email protected].

Thanks again.

Is there any reason we should do this if we are not having the verify problem?

I email QC and asked this question.

I also posted it on the beta forum.

when I get an answer, I'll post it here.

For now, my machines are running fine.. so I'm

not going to install the patch.
