Of course you kill your ability it edit

your solid when you do this..

Only if you delete your solid with the tree. wink.gif I got no problem keeping a seperate machining file and a seperate Geometry/building file....

Proe does this with their manufacturing.

This is why it doesn't store the NCL(NCI to us MC users)

So either ya got one set of problems IE...no saved NCI but for machining you convert automaticly to a dumb solid while the parametric database still keeps another copy with the tree......or you do it all in one humongous file and have dirty ops from time to time from glitches...

confused.gif I don't know which is better....

It all translates to more programming time...one way or nuther

Error happened again.

I was already done the job.

I opened the file and changed the clear height on

1 path, hit regen and it crashed.

gcode

Here are my settings.

.

.

Sorry forgot to try your settings....but now I got the error for a whole NEW even simpler reason.

Did the default get changed from X2 or X3 to X4?

I have never needed to adjust these and have no clue

what they mean or why I cant change a clear height, all of a sudden.

Yes temp folder was empty.

Why cant it open the temp folder!!!

Where is the temp file??

If its the WIndows temp, make a junk folder

in the root of C and path to it in the config file..

also

check your surfaces ,, I;ve seen this error caused by surfaces with twisted normals..

Well its midnight and I guess I should have

asked for help at 10:30 instead of shutting down and rebooting p.c. and MC over and over.

That worked.

So I will check to see if it switched folders on me

on my work P.C. on Monday.

Total 10 crashes

Thanks Gcode

i was just about ready to go to the local pub for rest of the night wink.gif

Greatly appreciated.

I think that should be posted as a sticky for

everyone to fix.

Cheers

Rick

Back To the Drawing Board.

gcode, i just rebooted my p.c. because Mc was giving me HUGE 10 second LAG and now it cant find

the temp folder on the C: once again!!

What is wrong with this software?

Is anybody at CNC trying to figure this out yet!!!

If I have to go back to X3 MU1 to finish this job

I wil have lost 30 hrs in my time. Cost? well

X4 has already cost my company close to $10,000

in bug related paths.

Get this fixed, I am a maintenance customer.

Rick

Peon, It was suggested through email that I turn off

my AV and reloaded my machine def in the machine group.

I am now getting 2 paths to 1 crash now.

better than nothing. it might be coincidence because

last night I was able to program a whole component

with put a crash, by making the new temp folder.

Good Luck

Rick

thanks gcode cheers.gif

Just happened again.

So reloading the mach defs only work for a short

period of time.

THIS IS A BUG! PLEASE FIX IT.

Once again how come it cant find the TEMP FOLDER!!

All I did this time was change the feed and speed

on one toolpath, it went dirty hit regen

and CRASHED!!!!

Just lost 1 hours work because I forgot to save

before I even THINK of EDITING OR CREATING a tool path!

This Sucks big time!!
