A few rules:

 

Please only enter data that YOU'VE ACTUALLY SEEN CUT. The whole purpose of this is to collect real world data and not re-hash charts and salesmen.

 

Have as much information as possible. You will need material, tool brand and p/n, and alot of data from your dynamic mill toolpath parameters. Have your mastercam screen available.

 

I consider this chart dynamic itself, if you make an error or would like to update something just shoot me an email.

 

Ideas and feedback welcome. (a few features are in the works)

Chris that was what I was thinking. On your form you could add lines to the cells to make it clearer to see. Also you can create a view area so the rows below will not show. It will make it cleaning looking though I really like that fill out form very professional looking.

My recommendation with your operations in aluminum is to increase your radial step over to at least 20-25% of your cutter. As long as you don't exceed that, you will seriously increase your MRR. 10% stepover would be good if you are going greater than 2:1 depth to diameter... I only drop that low in aluminum when going 3:1 or more...

 

I use 5-15% radial step over in hard metals...

Hopefully the optirough will have a routine in it at the end of the toolpath it will go back and do step reductions on angled walls so you don't have huge scallops from the large axial stepdowns capable with this toolpath. Anyone care to comment, beta testers? Surfcam does this with the 3d version of tru-mill.

Chris, are you interested in Dynamic Peel/Trocoidal mill info, or only Dynamic?

We've got some good proven stuff for 15-5 peel.

we've got 5 submissions now.

 

I just added a sfm and mrr calculator too

 

If cells don't seem to calculate right it's usually from input method (ie. 1 1/4" vs. 1.25), I go in everyday and make any adjustments so it all works.

I'm really impressed with CNC APP's entry. A 5/16 end mill in a 30 taper ER16 collet chuck ripping like that. It's soft material but still very impressive...

on our Okuma MC-V4020 cat50 mill i can run a 2.0 Sandvik long edge milling cutter up to a 62 cu in/min in dynamic

 

but i take every HP that the machine can give to me

I'm happy my mrr formula seems dead on though. If you happen to remember, don't put any % or " signs into fields, the formulas error out. I go in daily and straighten things out though.
