CoCreate

Does anybody out there use CoCreate or does anybody's company use it? Just curious.

What is CoCreate? and what would I use it for?

CoCreate is the Solid Modeling package that our Engineering Department uses (besides CATIA). I had never ever even heard of it before I came to work here. I would not recommend it. Mastercam's Solid Modeler is more associative then this stuff. I guess when our company was looking for a package to go with, CoCreate told them what they wanted to hear, "We'll kiss your butt, do whatever you want, gear development toward you if you want, etc...", and SolidWorks said "Pound salt, this is the product, this is the way it is, buy it or don't." So they went with CoCreate.

I have one customer whose corporate engineering department uses it. They sent me 3 .me10 files, I downloaded the 6 or 8 mb cocreate evaluation (On a dial up connection) then converted them to .DWG files. I have not touched it since. They do not have solid models available of this part. That is the extent of my interaction with CoCreate!

Hmmm.... Since I work for HP, I use CoCreate products all the time. (CoCreate used to be owned by HP). I use SolidDesigner, OnestepDesigner(SolidDesigner newer version) ME10.

We evaluated CoCreate for plastic injection mold design and it didn't qualify.It had problems with coincident tolerance with imported models and isn't easy to learn.
