Not sure what I've got here

I downloaded and have the X+ folder in the shared mcamx5 folder

but it isn't showing up in my toolbar states.

The X+ folder has a slew of stuff, 8 .dll, 10 XSS, a png folder, etc

I clicked on a "MakeToolBar" application in there, nota

I tried to re-download but got a mess of errors in German so I don't know what

that was about.

Re-Booted..?

Running Win XP BTW

Any clues to what I messed up??

Thanks

  • 2 weeks later...

I found one issue with the Setup Sheet. When using raster, parallel, or blend toolpaths, the "cycle time" is dramatically inaccurate. For example. I created a raster path at a 90 degree machining angle which back plotted at 4 minutes and the setup sheet reflected the same cycle time. I changed the machining angle to 0 degrees, the path back plotted at 4 minutes but the setup sheet stated 1-hour and 8 minutes. Maybe there is a setting on my end that needs to be tweaked. Anyone else see this?

It looks like all files are installed except the x+.ft which should be located in mcamx5\chooks\.

I am not sure what could cause the error.

MakeToolbar.exe is supposed to create the X+ toolbar in Mastercam and also create the X+.ft file in mcamx5\chooks\.

You can try to do it manual.

There is a template of the X+.ft file in %public%\documents\my mcamx5\x+\ called "X+.ft_".

Copy the file to the chooks folder and rename it to X+.ft.

Then you have to edit the file. Rename all the "@shared_x5" to the correct path of your public mcamx5 folder.

I.e.: "C:\Users\Public\Documents\shared mcamx5"

Before:

APPLICATION "X+"

FUNC_DLL "@shared_x5\X+\X+.dll"

RES_DLL "@shared_x5\X+\lang.dll"

CATEGORY "X+"

FUNCTION CPP "FlipGradientBG"

SBMP 18000

LBMP 18001

TIP 5

END_FUNCTION

...

After:

APPLICATION "X+"

FUNC_DLL "C:\Users\Public\Documents\shared mcamx5\X+\X+.dll"

RES_DLL "C:\Users\Public\Documents\shared mcamx5\X+\lang.dll"

CATEGORY "X+"

FUNCTION CPP "FlipGradientBG"

SBMP 18000

LBMP 18001

TIP 5

END_FUNCTION

...

After that you can create the X+ toolbar in Mastercam.

Gunther, I see what was causing the error.

If you look at the error image you will see that it is pointing to:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\shared mcamx5\

instead of:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\shared mcamx5

I fixed up my mcamx.config file and know the install works properly.

Columbo,

I have Windows 7 and I placed the logo.png file here?

C:\Program Files (x86)\mcamx5

Also, my logo is 194 x 167. Could the size of your logo be the problem?

I didn't have any problems so I'm just trying to come up with some things for you to try.

I did try puting the file in that directory.

Also logo size that I have is 96 x 96

Henry, I presume your files are on a network? I don't get the pictures when posting a network file. Locally it works fine.

Terry,

We are using a nethasp here. But mastercam is loaded on each pc so I am pretty sure it is running locally.

BTW....

I also dont get the tool picture.

I switched from HTML to excel and then the logo works. Going back to HTML it does not.

Does anyone have any idea why I lose the lines between tools when I try to save the settings for the setup sheet?

Worked fine in X4, I configured the sheet how I wanted it and saved it.

Now in X5 I can configure it and print and it's fine, but if I save my settings and then try to print it doesn't have any lines between tools, makes it real hard to read.

Just found it, you need to save the .css under the same name.

FWIW I really like this setup sheet, thanks!
