lathe home position in gcode???

Recommended Posts

Happy St. Patties day!!!

If this is not a post issue I apologize for putting this in the wrong place.

I am cutting optical laps on a cnc Yama Seiki gls 150m. Its a simple 180 deg arc. I have x5.

For some reason the tool is rapids to G0 X0. Z1.361 first then moves out to X3.7053.

see here:

G20

(TOOL - 2 OFFSET - 2)

(.25 X 30 DEGREE BAR INSERT - NONE)

( NEG 11.50 )

G28 U0. W0.

G0 T0200

G0 T0202

G97 S1000 M04

G0 X0. Z1.361

G50 S1000

G96 S500

X3.7053

G99 G1 X3.5053 F.002

G3 X0. Z0. R1.809

G1 G40 Z.1

What I want to happen is a rapid to G0 X3.7053 Z1.361 then cut the arc.

Like this:

G20

(TOOL - 2 OFFSET - 2)

(.25 X 30 DEGREE BAR INSERT - NONE)

( NEG 11.50 )

G28 U0. W0.

G0 T0200

G0 T0202

G97 S1000 M04

G0 X3.7053 Z1.361

G50 S1000

G96 S500

G99 G1 X3.5053 F.002

G3 X0. Z0. R1.809

G1 G40 Z.1

T0200

G28 U0. W0. M05

The weird part is that on some operations it post correctly and some not and all I did was copy the operations and reselect a new arc. No other changes.

There are aproximatly 250 programs or more it is annoying to cut and paste on every one. I tried to write a macro but I could not figure a way to have the gcode compesate for the .005 radius in the tool. Yes the .005 makes a difference in the radii generated on a optical tool, and I could not get the machine to do comp for me, I just didn't get it exactly right.

Thank you for helping!!!
