Edit - UPDATE Verify (turbo! to work in WCS Bottom.

I started programing Mold components as they sit in a design position.

So I used the Bottom WCS to program the cavity and when using verify Turbo mode

it cuts it all messed up and missing areas, etc.

If I don't use turbo It works as it should.

(Warning: TruSolid turbo: 3-axis moves in top view only)

I am in top view, but in Bottom WCS??

The problem is it take 3 hrs to verify that Mold Cavity in a quality that I can use to check it.

Is there something wrong with verify turbo when uses Different WCS's to program with?

Is there a setting I am missing to get it to working like normally?

BTW, it doesnt work in X5 either.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Rick,

You need to set up stock size thru Toolpath manager properties. HTH

In X5 Right click Customize in the toolbar..

Select Machine Sim from the drop down

drag all 5 icons up to your tool bar..

Set up your stock in the Ops Manager as an STL file..

Lauch the Verify icon.. Its a work in progress but shows promise

I've been using it on some nasty 5X toolpaths to good effect.

Holy crap, I accidentally had the red arrow in a different machine group that had the same block size

stock size(Programmed in TOP WCS) and tried verify in turbo on the Group which is programmed in Bottom WCS, in question.

IT WORKED.......WTF! You still get the initial error message but then it verifies like

normal not all screwed up.

A bug glitch to our advantage, at NO EXTRA CHARGE!.....or long wait from a enhancement or patch or major release.

This is extraordinarily a great thing.

Take that CNC.....;).....ha

Gcode try that with one of your 5 axis paths.

But can you rotate the part after that verify?

Yes you can it verifies upside down, but it works like normal.

Like normal verify, if its not too complex you can rotate easily and when

done, normal rotate and zoom etc.

tried it out on all jobs so far that I have programmed in bottom WCS and no problem

they all worked

Rick I'm guessing you want to save part of the verified model as an STL and verify the other half of the part. To do this verify your model then choose the save button in verify. As shown in the verify pic. Then save the model in the folder you select or leave it to the default data folder. Then choose okay. Reset the verify and pick the options button. Then choose file and pick the filing cabinet to select the STL model. Choose okay then verify the model.

This method is something we show in our training here and can really help speed up your process because you don't need to watch your roughing cycle cut the part again.

Thanks Chris and Patrick for the support.

Patrick showed me a few workaround for this without using the stl and speeding up simulate too not to take

hours for verify.

5 hours down to 20 minute verify.

This needs to be addressed as an enhancement or what ever you what to call it.

Although I do like the aspects he showed me with .stl as you have stated, and will

learn to use it to my advantaged when needed.

Cheers

Rick
