High Speed Alum sfm and chip load

I've been working with composites, so it's been a while since I've done high speed machining. What kind of sfm do you all use? We're running a VF3 and a VF6. They use IMCO M203N High Performance Streaker End Mills.

For a 1/2" endmill (OSG Blizzard) I usually start at around 12k rpm and 250 IPM and adjust from there.

It really depends how and what you are cutting.. 7075 cuts different than 6061..

The IMCO catalog specs out the feeds and speeds for the streakers.. It is pretty fast.. I run them on Haas mills also.. I don't have the catalog with me, but I'm thinking around 1200 SFM with about .005-.007 Chipload..

1/2" endmill ( Streaker 3 Flute ) I run about 9200 rpm, 165 IPM when slotting, I try not to go more than .75d to 1Xd on the depth per pass.. Chip evacuation is EVERYTHING!!

Blast it with the highest pressure of coolant to can... And after finally getting a Haas with the high speed machining unlocked in the control, it runs way better at those speeds..

You can go faster than that when side milling...
