Post generic 5-axis

From what I understand the Generic Fanuc 5X Mill post comes with MasterCam .

I am not sure what machine configuration this post processor is for.

 

I want to know if the Generic Fanuc 5X Mill post that comes with Mastercam can be modified to output CNC code for a 5 axis CNC machine with a table on table B/C axis CNC machine that has a Fanuc control.

 

If it can then what needs to be edited in post or machine definition.

The generic 5-axis post that comes with Mastercam is setup to handle all different configurations of machines, it just needs to be setup correctly.

 

All the settings to control this are handled at the top of the post file itself, not the machine definition.

 

So yes, it can be set up for a table/table configuration.

The gen 5X post can be editied to support just about any 5X machine configuration,

 

but it is not likely that a newbie will be successful at it.

 

Your best bet is to talk to your dealer.

 

Mastercam also ships with a Haas trunion post, which may already be very close to what you need
