.err File

Recommended Posts

When I post process a program, I get a ".err" log file and it is stored along with my ".nc" program in the same folder.

The ".err" file does not seem to contain any errors, and my programs look fine, so I just want to stop the ".err" file from being created.

It is annoying to have two files named the same (with different file extensions) in the same folder.

How do I stop it?

Just wanted to make sure there weren't any "real" errors.

To stop the err file...

-settings

-machine def manager

-click the icon at the top for the control def

-in the tree on the left pick "files"

-under "posting error file" hit the dropdown for "keep error file" and choose "on fatal errors"

-hit save icon at top left

-green check out

-save icon at top left (of machine def now)

-green check out

-it will ask you "replace machine def bla bla bla" hit yes.

I brought you to the control def thru the machine def because this way the changes should take effect immediatly, if you just went straight to the control def you would need a restart before you get the changes.
