One thing I miss about not drawing every part is that you loose some of the familiarity with it. Don't get me wrong, I'd MUCH rather be a programmer than a CAD jockey, but building a prat fr scratch, you get to know it inside and out before you ever put a tool to it. That is helpful IMHO.

+1000 :harhar: The models we get are always "For Reference Only" Trying to go through and double check everything takes longer than drawing it up from scratch. IMO

Blade Expert is a custom application for programming multi-bladed parts, developed by ModuleWorks in Germany.

If you installed the sample files you can open the Blade Expert sample file for review.

If you feel that you can comfortably program that file in less that 2 hours then Blade Expert is not for you.

If you only do these kinds of part occasionally Blade Expert is not for you.

If you don't have a modern CNC machine, capable of precise multiaxis, synchronized motion Blade Expert is not for you.

If you are a professional and serious about exploring multi-blade machining Blade Expert is definitely for you.

If you are already making a living cutting parts like these you will know what a bargain BE is in this field and Blade Expert is for you.

If you do a bit of research of what solutions are available on the market you will know what a bargain BE is.

Why use Mastercam Blade Expert? What is the Mastercam difference?

We have extensively tested our integrated solution . . . hands-on cutting parts on the machine during the BE integration process.

We are providing much more than just a tool, we have assembled a complete, customized solution.

We are so confident in our Blade Expert solution package that we will give you a money-back quarantine.

What is in the package?

The power of Mill Level 3

Blade Expert

We will program your first part and follow it through until you take the finished part off your machine. Train you along the way with your part and your machine.

We will help you calibrate your machine and fine-tune your post processor when needed.

We will build a virtual replica of your machine, so that you can see the whole manufacturing process on your screen before committing to the machine.

Unparallelled World-wide reseller support from the #1 CAM system.

We haven't seen a part we couldn't cut yet.

Don't try this at home, don't guess, don't make assumptions . . . talk is cheep.

Contact us if you are serious and let's cut your part together.

Hello,

Blade Expert is a custom application that was developed specifically for impeller and other multibladed parts.

What used to take between 8-40 hours can now be done in under 4 hours.

It allows an unlimited number of splitters.

As far as some of the comments on other CAM packages.

• One of them was used as the benchmark when developing the Blade Expert product.

• The other one looks very similar to Mastercam Blade Expert.

At CNC Software we currently have 3 different five axis machines in our machine shop to test Blade Expert with.

We welcome the opportunity to demonstrate Blade Expert with your part, in your shop, cutting on your machine.

Challenge us, send us your toughest multibladed part.

Thank you,

Gene Welti

It uses 2 ball nosed taper mills

We cut from Inconnel, Udimet, Rene, Ti aluminide

Without bull nose support, It wont work. The taper tools are great for finishing, but without the heavy stock removal support?

Maybe down the road they can support that

This part programmed in 15 minutes with Blade Expert...

Doing it using conventional methods... probably closer to an hour.

Just sayin'

:coffee::whistle:

James - really? I mean REALLY

I know I am THE newbeeee and have a LOT to learn, but would this really only take an hour with 'std' mcam???

I mean, rub my nose it - I neeeeeeeeeeeed more lessons.

Wow, just wow.

Don't worry Newbee, no one in the world is making MACHINE READY code for that part in one hour.

Mike

Ummmm, this part is not particularly difficult, the material is aluminum, and tolerances are +/-.005

Cutting chips in one hour including my CAMplete Simulation so I know that thinngs won't go bump and that my feed rates are leveled... ONE HOUR!

If that offends some, well, then that's a you problem.

Didn't mean to start a p!ssing contest - I'd be very impressed with myself IF i could even do it, and I'd think I'm a god if I could do this in a day :D

I honestly didn't realise that this sort of thing could be grammed in this sort of time.

As the siggy says....a truck load to learn!!!

With 5-Axes comes more freedom. Instead of motion being restricted, now, you can approach parts without those 3-4 axis restrictions so in a sense some things are easier. Now with that said, you have some new things to worry about. Tool clearances become more critical, maybe you need to worry about a trunion now, etc... But, all in all, 3 axis machines are communists and 5-Axis machines are Anarchists... :D:p to use a political analogy.
