X7 and wcs other than standard

Recommended Posts

I am using X7. I have an assembly that we are machining parts for. I received an assembly solid. To make each part, I open the assembly model, "save some" and save out the part I need. I don't physically change the location of the model, but just create new a new wcs for it.

Things I've noticed:

When I do a transform on any geometry I've created, like a stock solid, the extents bounding box that shows a preview for transform is oriented with I'm assuming the "top" wcs and not the current wcs I'm using.

When I use backplot/verify, I cannot use my space explorer to rotate. The pick rotation center doesn't work and it will only rotate based on the actual model coordinates origin.

The XYZ min/max coordinates are of no use if you are using a different wcs as the show calculations based on the actual part location and not the wcs that is being used.

are you using the latest 3D Connexion drivers.. This stuff is all working with my Space Pilot Pro.

You do have to do a mouse click in the Verify graphics window so the Space Explorer knows with window ( Mastercam or Verify) is active

Oh yeah, the explorer is working fine, just the model origin is like 122 inches from the part. That seems to be where the rotation is from with it. I have "pick rotational center" programmed to a key on the explorer, but it doesn't function inside verify, therefore I cant pick a point
