Hosed up tool bar states

I am working on a file from another programmer. Every time I open his file all my tool bars get re-arranged. What is happening and how can I fix it?

 

Other files from him have not done this.

We are both using X7.

Saving and opening does not fix it.

different size monitors/ aspect ratios did that from past experiences, ive had it happen in x6 and x5, all you should have to do is reload the tool bar state that you're using and it should be ok

Can you load your own toolbar?

To restore your toolbars go to:

 

Settings->Customize

 

Then click the folder icon in the bottom left hand corner of the customize window. This should open up a browsing window (which should have its directory set at my mcamx7/CONFIG) and select "mastercam.mtb" or "defaults.mtb." This should restore the toolbars back to their default state.

I can reload my tool bar from the settings page and the tool bar states stick for the rest of the session. If I have to restart MC, tool bars will be messed up when I open that particular file.

Make sure you define your toolbar state as the default. I think this settings leads to most of the confusion for the Mastercam toolbar states.

 

In the Toolbar States dialog, select your toolbar state the check the Default box under the list. You should get a small asterisk after your toolbar state. Now every time Mastercam opens it will use this default toolbar state rather than trying to reload the previously active one.

My preferred tool bar state is marked as the default.

Re-select, save . . . blah blah blah.

Check the machine def settings as they can load a different toolbar state. Maybe the other programmer has that set which gets saved with the file.

That was it. If you edit the machine file, front page has a check box at the middle bottom labeled "Toolbar State".
