Okuma P300M G93 problem

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to 2D contour some letters on the OD of a part in my 4th axis.

N100(LETTERING)

(COMPENSATION TYPE - OFF)

/M08

G15H1

G56H1X.3421Y0.Z3.87S10000M03

(Z STOCK TO LEAVE = 0.)

(XY STOCK TO LEAVE = 0.)

A-28.895X.3421Y0.Z3.87S10000M03

Z1.92

G94G01Z1.866F10.

X.3571

X.3721

X.3871

X.4021

X.4171

G93A-28.337F549.9 <------- alarm on this line 2262 code 38 (which makes no sense)

The alarm reads: G188 or G189 is specified although the 2nd tool length offset specification is not selected.

Anyone have this issue? Or is it me... again. :p

Do you have G17 or G18 called out? How about loosing the G94 & G93 ... just make sure there is a feed (F549.9) on the a-axis line & feed )F10.) on the next XYZ line. Or cant you set the rotary diameter in the parameters then just use a common XYZ type feed.

G93 is inverse feed time, are you sure you have that option. It's not standard spec.

I have no idea if we have that option.

It's the Genos M560-V with a Koma rotary.

So I guess I don't know what I'm doing. I don't use inverse feed? What do you guys use when doing a 2D contour or scribing letters on a diameter?

Sounds like you do not have the option, All you can do is put a feedrate in and hope for the best

I've done this before (not G93) but that was with my old post, since I've updated my MpMaster and MMD my settings have changed.

Should the rotary setting be in UPM?

Here is some code from my other part program that worked great without a G93:

N100(LETTERING)

G15H01

G56H1X.725Y0.Z3.3S10000M03

Z1.4A88.743

G01Z1.296F10.

Do you know offhand a ballpark price of that option?

I thought we would have that option since we bought the full rotary package with out machine, weird.

Right now, DPM is working for the job I have at the moment.

Doug, I'm sorry.... I have to ask.

Is your head really triangular? If so, it must be a real b*** finding a baseball cap that fits. Just askin'

Yes. In fact many years ago I was the favorite for US diving team gold metal in the Olympics, but the IOC decided my head gave me an unfair advantage an banned me from international competition. Then I hit rock bottom and things got ugly. I ended up on a street corner letting weirdos touch my cone for money. Eventually I had enough and wandered into a machine shop that was hiring. :harhar:

LOL. Best answer in a long time!

Actually, that could be a great signature line: "I'll let you touch my conehead for money"
