Question about default settings for toolpaths in X7

Whenever I use face mill, pocket, helix bore, etc for the first time after starting mastercam X7, the stock to leave on floors/walls always defaults to on and leave 0.05. This is driving me nuts, in previous versions of mastercam it was never set as a default, so I am constantly forgetting about it and have to figure out why a toolpath is not cutting correctly.

 

Is there a way to change this?

Set it to whatever you want it to default to. Click on the "save parameters to defaults file" button in the upper left. Boom! Your operation parameters are saved to default.

Do you know the name of the file it saves the parameters to? It would make it easier to make the changes to all of the other computers by replacing their file the updated one?

Look in the shared mcamx7/mill/ops for Mill_inch.defaults-7 for inch vaules and Mill_MM.defaults-7 for metric values. I have several different ones for machines and other things so just comes down to how you want to control stuff like this.

You can also use the PrmDef chook, download from the MC website. It toggles between the previous op and the default.
