Pick Programs

we use the surface finish leftover programs to pick smaller corners, say if we finish a mold with a 1" ball mill and then we have to go to a 1/4" radius we would us a 1/2" ball mill with the surface finish left over program. Our CNC supervisor wants us to climb mill as much as possible, because it seems to do better when we have to use longer tools, or if we are cutting harder materials. is there a way to force this type of program to only climb mill? I see in the setting you have the options of CCW / CW and I would assume CW would be the one to use for this, or is there another way or a setting we are missing. we are currently using X6 MU3.

In either case wouldn't you have to create a .STL file for each program? on our larger parts we typically finish with a 1" ball then pick with a 1/2" and a 1/4" so there would have to be a .STL after the 1" and one after the 1/2" correct?

To be honest we have never used stock models, everything we use in Mastercam is pretty much OJT or what is passed on by others who have learned the same way. We are not given the time to set down and play and experiment, and we cannot get our company to do any sorts of actual MC training. There is so much more it can do that we do not even utilize because of this.
