No Sim found

Are you using a physical hasp or the Nethasp? If you're using a Nethasp your Nethasp .ini file will need to be edited to reflect the change of software versions. If you have an IT deptartment, call them.

I was having the same issue when installed x8. I renamed the original nethasp.ini in x8 and copied the nethasp.ini from x7 into my x8 folder

and all is good.

Find the "nethasp.ini" in ver 7. Its in the top level mcamx8 folder. Open it using notepad!!! Don't use MS word.

Now find the "nethasp.ini" in ver 8. Open it and remember which one is which.

Scrool down in the ver 7 file till you see the NH_SERVER _ADDR.

Copy that info to the same place in the ver 8 file. Also look for anything else that is different. You can tell because the " ::" are gone at the beginning of the line.

Save the ver 8 file and close it.

Close the Ver 7 file.

Now start ver 8.

Took my sim home over the weekend, installed X8, renamed nethasp.ini to nethasp_original, copied nethasp.ini from X7 to X8, all is good. Come in to work, do the same thing, X6, X7,X8, all give No Sim Found. Uninstall X8 as before, now X6 and X7 give No Sim Found, so no Mcam at all now. Can't figure out what I did wrong.

You're running a standalone sim, correct?

Not a network being used as a standalone?

If it is a net sim it would have an N**** associated to the serial number

Go to program files file in your Window start menu, scroll to the folder for McamX8,

Go to utilities and launch the Hasp executable file,

does it find the hasp?

does it show the correct serial #?

does it list your licenses?

does it list the correct maint date?

does it have a start and end date listed?

If it can not find the hasp and you are running a standalone hasp, go back to the same location in program files and launch the nethasp utilities.

Make certain that it is set to "Hasp" at the top of the utility

The nethasp utility is set to hasp correct?
The hasp utility will not ping the hasp when you hit read?
Did you try a different USB port (yeah, sounds crazy but it happens)
Have you contacted your reseller?
In Texas that should be MLC CAD
