Screen background color

Was going to post a poll but I don't see the option for that? Where did that go?

Anyhow I just discovered the 3 mastercam users in this building immediately changed their background color to Black upon loading X8.

 

What screen color did you end up with?

Mine is blue...my other programmer uses black as well. I think it is relevant to the colors we prefer using?

Mine started as black, I changed it to DODGER BLUE!

I bit the bullet and just decided to get used to whatever the defaults are.

 

I use different colors for my geometry than I used to, but sometimes change is good for the soul.

 

Took about a week, now I love it.

I use gradient background, horizontal, start 0 - end 253. (black to a dark blue)

I set mine just like in my last few videos. I changed the whole scheme and the back is Start 155 and the end is 0.

I have been trying different combinations over the last few years but I keep going back to 149.

While beta testing X8 I was running a gradient background but ended up setting it back to 0 black no gradient.

start 255

end 123

Once you go black, you never go back.

 

 

I'm color blind as h311 and black helps.

Jay, how did you change the window colour? Not the background, the actual menus/menu backgrounds. 

I really like the look you have...I like dark, easier on the eyes after 12 hrs

I agree goooose.  I have hated the new backgrounds in x8 from day 1. Jays does look good.

It's no secret that my sanity is often in question... in a good way mostly.  Anyway, sometime back many of us were battling the interface "look" and CNC was kind enough to spill the beans on something we could all do (at our own peril anyway) to affect the look/feel of the Mastercam X8 Interface (Open up C:\users\UserName\My Documents\my mcamx8\CONFIG\Design.Workspace file in a text editor and edit the <AppLook>"1"</AppLook> value . So, back to the sanity part.  I took screenshots for AppLook"1" through AppLook"12" so you could all see. It seemed like from 12 on they did not change (perhaps it's my colorblindness). Enjoy, and hopefully this will help others like myself that are colorblind too.
