ISCAR endmills

Does anybody use Iscar endmills and the catalog with in mastercam??  How well are the feeds and speeds set up?   Im hoping to convince the company to upgrade some of the tooling around here and wanted to know how iscar compares to  others.   thanks

Iscar makes some great tools but IMO its very hard to justify their prices in most cases.. usually there is someone else out there with a comparable tool for a lower price.. haven't tried their speeds and feeds but I would expect they are probably pretty good since I know Iscar worked with Mastercam to come up with them.

I have not checked any prices yet.  That will definitely be a consideration in the decision.

I will let you know we just got high feed endmill, chatter free endmill, and bunch of turning tools quoted. I will be programming with mastercam.

We've used several Iscar solid carbide endmills, and while they work ok, they aren't so amazing to justify the price. You can find equal or superior endmills for cheaper from other vendors, like IMCO (personal favorite), Helical, and Kennametal.

+1 and more for IMCO best in class for the price and performance. From what I have seen WALTER gives a better ROI than ISCAR still very pricey though and would go with IMCO 1st.

IMO the widia Hanita VariMill II ER end mills are much nicer than the Iscar Chatterfree end mills along with being less costly.

We use kennametal end mills the most and they are great , we've used imco,harvey iscar, emuge , osg, sandvik, and hanita. We like kennametal the best for a we range of selection , cheaper than that of high end with reliable performance , osg comes in a close second for the same reasons as well as their website and catalogues are really user friendly.
