Makino question

Recommended Posts

We are a Haas shop and we have started prototyping some things that are for optical use. We all know that the Haas isn't the best machine for that kind of use so I looked around a little and see that Makino as a nice machine called the Iq300. Anyone have any idea of ball park price for one of these before I contact a sales rep? Is it like a $250k-350k machine?

Thanks.

My guess is $500K. If you're kind of getting by w/ a Haas and want to make a huge jump up without spending a ton. I would look at the Makino F5. Great machine for around $180K. Next up would be the V56i which is just a little nicer/ acurate /Japanese made version of the F5. l was at Makino Ohio and they had an IQ300 there and it was awesome. But like most things Makino, they're not giving it away.

The i stand for eye-yai-yai when you look at the pricetag. GoetzInd is giving you some good advice. Our company has an F5  and V56, but totally different machines when it comes to price. We also have an S56 which was replaced by the F5 and two PS95 Makino's which are super fast, but not well suited for your application. The F5 would blow your mind compared to a Haas.

With Makino, if it has an i in the model number, you better call your banker to extend your line of credit.
