EDM Wire Question

     Morning everyone,

  As times down here in Louisiana now are getting very tight, we need to try to cut customer costs any way we can.

We looking into an EDM machine to see if we can save machining time possibly?

    Not know anything about EDM I have here a drawing of a sample part that perhaps we could cut the outside profile and dovetail to finish dims.

  Would anyone out there want to give me a rough cutting time on the attached part.

Required tolerance will play a big role in how long this part would take. I can see anywhere from 4 - 12 hours.

4-5 hours for 1 rough pass. I found the model not correctly done.

Thanks a bunch guys,  I can see that EDM won't be an option for these parts for us right now.

The company you are doing it for must really be tight. That part is made for WEDM.
