HSMAdvisor Speed and Feed Calc Hook for MasterCAM

I have released the first HSMA hook for MasterCAM X9 earlier this month.

So far not all toolpath/tooling styles are supported. But to me application of it looks very promising. I have been using it at work for some time.

It has, of course, has ways to go but you can check it out right now

I am planning to keep the ToolPath Parameters Import/Export features free for all users, so there is something for everybody, not just my customers!

You can check out more info over here:

http://hsmadvisor.com/index.php?page=HSMAdvisor_for_MasterCAM

There is a list of supported features and a couple of videos to show how everything works.

As usual YOUR feedback is very welcome.

Update:

1. installer has been fixed.

2. .NET 4.0 required for the hook to work

I'm getting an API error when I try to run the c-hook,..

Side Note: I have the FSWizard loaded to my phone and it's wicked cool.

Hmm.

I wonder if anyone else is having this problem.

I tested it on W7 and 8...

The only thing I can think of is an antivirus deleting one of the files.

Can you check detection logs and tell me if this is what happens?

When I tried to install this nothing appears to be happening. I right clicked and selected to unblock and to run as admin but when I double click the .exe the hour glass shows up and then  goes away and nothing else appears to happen.

This one looks like antivirus blocking it.

Kaspersky is known to do that.

I get the same - HSMAdvisor_For_MasterCAM_X9_v1.162_NET4.0.exe does nothing.

The EXE file  was "blocked' after downloading, but I took care of that.

I'm running McAfee and I tried turning it off and then the running the EXE (also as Admin) and the result was the same ->

A couple seconds of spinning icon and then nothing...

Tested with Win 10 and same as the others noted, no response running the executable. Checked running processes and it was not there.

I have no idea what's causing it. Works just fine on all of my computers.

Just changed the installer program, removed digital signing and re-uploaded it to the server

Please check it out now.

PS: Looks like digital signing may sometimes cause problems. Wonder if this is the case.

The new EXE installer worked for me and the HSMAdvisor_HOOK.dll runs.

If you have X9 installed, the .NET 4.0 frameworks should already be on the system, as it's a  prerequisite for X9.

I thought it was related to .net

But I get the same System.Reflection.MethodInvoke error at my work computer.

I think HighSpeedInterop.dll is throwing the error when it tries to read toolpath data.

I can not replicate the problem at my home PC...

Going to need some details on this System.Reflection.MethodInvoke error.

Any indications of which Method it's complaining about?

Are you sure you have the exact same version of HighSpeedInterop.dll being used in each of these situations?

I was my mistake (surprise?)

I set compile config to release, but it was still doing it in debug mode. Once i properly set the release mode it worked. checked it on a clean W8 system.

The fixed installer is now available here->

Thank you, everybody.

Now that the teething problems are over, more goodies to come!
