is there a way to make dynamic mill plunge on a point instead of helix or other entry method?

Ive had this question ever since I learned to use dynamic!  Never got around to asking.  Sometimes I just want it to go straight into a hole or pocket, in fact, its just happend 5 minutes ago...

i can get it to plunge straight in by setting angle to 90... but it's no where near the entry point which is in the center of a thru hole.  I want to plunge in the middle of the hole.

Yeah, they are. I actually figured that out before I came back. I always use feedmills with our work.

 

It's actually really simple once I realized I could put 0 in the helix radius box. If you subtract your endmill dia from drilled hole, divide by two and add a fudge for a little clearance it'll start eating as soon as it gets to depth.

Instead of hacking with ramp angle just create a hole geometry slightly larger than your endmill and chain it as your "air region"

Much safer and makes shure you dont straight plunge where you do not want to
