Haas ST10 ATP Failure

I am going to run a new job in my lathe and come to find out that the ATP is not functioning properly.

 

When I drop the probe arm to touch off my tools it falls too far and all of my tools shoot clear over the probe. I have lifted the arm by hand and can feel that there is a location where it feels as though the arm is supposed to stop and rest in but it falls past that spot.

 

Has anyone had this problem before and if so what was the solution? I am trying to avoid having to call a service tech. I could touch my tools off manually, but I get mad when things I pay for don't function properly.

Touch of tools on the diameter, usually faster than tool probe any way.

Not even close. Probe work great. Far faster.

 

Call service and ask where the problem might be. Sounds like the stop pin is gone, somewhere.

did you check the cylinder that rotates the probe arm down ?

 

and I agree with Machineguy 100% probing is way faster than manual touch-off
