SCREEN---HIDE---ALL COLOR

Recommended Posts

I'm new to Mastercam x9. I used Mastercam 9 at previous employer and could hide all of one color or many by using screen, hide ,all color. How do I accomplish this in X9.

I may create 2d toolpaths in different colors and when I put a toolpath to those I like to see only the entities I want to program.

The method mentioned by tired should work well for you, alternatively you can use the all button found in your general selection toolbar, then the screen hide command.

An additional method that would also work Mastercam also can use color filters when chaining your toolpaths, to use this feature; when chaining go into chaining options (looks like a "!" at the bottom of the chaining window) and once you go into chaining options there are color filters inside the chaining menu that can be utilized.

I like to map commands I use often to F11 and F12 keys on my keyboard. It makes quick work of something when you find yourself having to repeat a command many times while working on a specific job. I also tend to re-map F5. The default for F5 is "delete", and I hit it by accident sometimes when reaching for F4 (analyze entity properties).

Notes:

  •

  • When you are using a dialog box or a ribbon bar, use the [O] key as a shortcut for OK and the [P] key for Apply.

  •

  • When you use a keystroke combination of the [Alt] key plus another key to initiate a Mastercam function, you must hold down the [Alt] key while pressing the other key. If you press the [Alt] key, release it, and then press the other key, you may get unintended results. For example, if you hold down the [Alt] key and press [T], it will toggle the toolpath display. However, if you press the [Alt] key, release it, and then press [T], it will open the Toolpaths drop down menu.
