2017 is it slower than X9

It's not the "toolpath generation" speed per se.

It's the overall interface... When you accept a command, i.e. clicking "OK", there is a noticeable hesitation before you regain control of the system.

Sometimes it's a second, sometimes it 2 seconds.

If you're a fast brained cad operator, those seconds feel like an eternity.

You get these "dead" spots in your flow waiting for Mastercam to simply close a window. It's painful.

It might be a windoze 10 issue too; regardless, it's bad.

I'm running Win7 at work and Win10 at home

I haven't noticed this on either system.

In fact I think my Win10 home system is a little snappier than my system at work

I assume it is because my home rig isn't running all the overhead cr@p It puts

on or work system.

In your case, I would try turning off the Customer Feedback Program if it's on

and try shutting event logging off.

That 2 second delay is not normal, perhaps one of these ideas will help

It has to be something on your end.  Because I have no delays at all.

Windows 10 here also.

EDIT:

I take that back, I do notice delays, but only when hitting the "play" button in Verify.

Just restart Mastercam every hour or so just like every other version, where

the cache memory gets bogged down and things slow, stop working and

many other weird behaviors.

After a restart it seems to run seemless for me.

By the time the last update they eventually release for 2017, like all the others,

it will clear up 80% of the issues.

I am noticing that still when you have many transforms....it does get bogged down...that's been an issue for a long time

I also notice 2017 Verify is markedly slower than X9 verify

Just restart Mastercam every hour or so

I have to do this at least once a day.

I notice (usually after a transform) that it does get wonky. Sometimes I can't select points, or other geometry won't show when bouncing to a different level or viewsheet.

Log off yesterday and today....difference noticed, zip, zilch, nada...

Well I was having some nci issues and when I turned off error logging my issues went away.

I would talk to IT and see if they can give the MCAM2017 folder full control to your user account. I have run Mastercam this way since it moved from C to Program files(X86) and then Program Files.
