Yeah, the nerds that write the algorithms that make the cool chit happen for us are a rare few. It's nice that they share.

I have always used the ModuleWorks paths within our non-Mastercam software as tools of last resort. Not because they are bad, just cause they are so different. We just got a 5 axis license and will be getting our first 5 axis machine after ITMS, so I've been playing around with them in my spare time.

Very powerful, but very scary.

I've always described them as 2D paths for 3D. They'll do ANYTHING you tell them to do. That can be either incredibly cool, or incredibly bad. :ermm:

At first it is very intimidating but once you start to dig in you can quickly gain the confidence to get the result you are after. Congrats on the first 5 axis.

From what I can tell from the ModuleWorks Partners page, ModuleWorks licenses some parasolid technology from Siemens. As far as I know NX doesn't use any 3rd party toolpaths. Not saying that's better or worse but it does give them tighter integration.

Not sure where you are getting that from. When I look at that page all I see is a list of companies without a description of the nature of their partnership.
