How do you define your Thread tools in Lathe?

Okay seems I am always having to redefine my lathe threading tools. Here were are in the 2017 release and the tools are still defined of the center line of the threading tool. I have never in all my years of working on lathes touched a tool off and then adjusted the difference from the tip of the tool to the center line of the cutting angle. I have a thread that needs to go 1.25 deep against a shoulder I can program my toolpath to go 1.249 deep and never worry about my tool crashing into the part since I have always touched off from the end of the tool.

I have always wondered if anyone touches off their tools like the way Mastercam defines them for threading?

I am against it 100%, but since it is still being done this way I must be in the 1% crowd that doesn't follow the way Mastercam has laid it out. I would like to hear from those that use the the Lathe or MT product and know how you think the tools should be defined. How does other CAM define Lathe Threading tools?

Thanks for anyone who take the time to read this and respond to this thread.
