Hello gentlemen,

 

What is the best for drilling aluminium 2011 ,hole dia .111  4.5  inch deep.  (  40* D)

 

Gun drill not working ,after 4 psc  drill gone :(

 

My max rpm is 3000

What are your speeds & feeds on that gundrill?

 

That's likely your best option so dialing it in properly is important

 

What's your gundrilling rpocess?

 

Are you creating a c'bore for the drill to enter the hole spinning backwards and then turning it on and applying thru tool coolant?

 

Drill masters suggests for their tools that size

 

10k RPM and 1.75 IPM

 

If you only have 3k, you're looking at a feed .525IPM

That's certainly not a gundrill as previously stated

Make sure you have a loc-line coolant hose pointing directly at the drill.

40xd in that size drill with 3000 rpm?

I run a production part with 1000 psi

Guhring Gundrill .058 2.250 deep no peck

Works great and I've gotten 1000 holes out of the same drill so far in 6061

PCT makes some pretty good drills up to 50D you might be surprised of their offering. Ghrung is a very solid choice, but I have had good luck with PCT.
