+1 to JParis' solution. I try to get away from splines whenever I can. It's not always possible but when it is... do it.

I've had good luck a time or two with similar shapes getting the path motion I want in a 2d path ignoring the tool/holder interference and then use convert to 5 to get the tilt/rotation needed.

Did you create the edges off a surface or from a solid? I find the you get cleaner information when using a solid to create your geometry.

I see this a lot, both on a DMG CTX Beta and a Mazak Integrex

Best I found to do is lock both B and C if possible at a given angle. I see a lot of uneven C and B axis angle moves that cause the machine to hesitate and that allows the tool to dwell
