X+ for 2018 install problem

My company has just installed Mastercam 2018 and is is working, I have downloaded and unzipped the X+ for 2018 app. However I get a X+ setup box saying: Mastercam directory not found\installation aborted. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have admin rights?

If not, IT will need to install it.

I have the same issue but it was the IT guy trying to do the install.  Without admin rights, all I get is a user account control box asking me to log in to install the software.  My Mastercam 2018 is installed in C:\Program Files\Mcam2018 and I was attempting to have my X+ installed from within the Mcam2018 folder.  Any idea how to help my IT guy get X+ for 2018 up and running?

You should just place the installer on your desktop....it will install itself to the proper location.

From within your account, after right clicking and launching as Admin, the IT will be able to enter his credentials and the installer will run

Trying to install from within the Program Files folder, because of Windows security, no a good idea

It's important that you launch Mastercam as Admin...at least once. Mastercam than writes its own install path to the registry. The X+ installer is looking for this registry key.

If you just install Mastercam with admin rights...but never launch it as admin...the key will not be written...unless the user has the proper rights.

Got my IT guy to launch Mcam 2018 while logged in as admin and that did the trick.  Now we're up and running, thanks a ton for the help!

I Just cheked their downloads page....they only provide X+ back to X9

You might try contacting them and see if they have something for X4, I doubt it but you never know.

i have an apps of X+ for mastercam..suddenly i've already place it on drive c folder,mcamx,mill, but when i try to install it,it says directory not found/installation aborted...any help on this issue?pls and tnx
