Haas VM-3 mill with a 5 axis TR160 trunnion

Recommended Posts

Hello,

We have a Haas VM-3 mill with a 5th axis TR160 trunnion on its way and I was wondering if any of the generic posts in Mastercam were adequate in posting for this particular machine definition?  If not, can anyone point me in the right direction of getting a post?

Thanks

CNC Software used to include the Generic Haas VF-TR Post with the install. It is there in 2017, but not in 2018. That post will work "out of the box" for your setup. However, there are still parameter settings on the machine that can change things like "direction of rotation".

I just started a new 5 Axis Post Processing class, where we show you how to setup the Generic Fanuc 5X Mill Post for a Trunnion and a Gantry style of machine. It's not too late to sign up...

If you are not using TCPC or DWO than the Generic Haas Trunnion post is pretty good, about 5 or so minor changes have to be made.

If you are using TCPC/DWO with the newer control. Taking Colin's class would be the most economic way to get a good post.
