If you have enough grooves to justify the cost, then a custom multi-flute trepanning tool would speed up the process time. You'd be able to take a heavier chip load, meaning you could increase the feed. Then just add a short dwell (rpm dependent, try for 2 complete revolutions of 1 tooth). That could be .001-.005 seconds, in order to finish the bottom of the groove. Compare that to making a full pass on the slot bottom with your endmill.

I bet you could cut each groove in 1/10th the time with the proper tool...
