Normally there is a locking pin either on the backside or the front section. I have seen some of the older models where you had to align a hole through the lower section of the housing into a hole in the spindle shaft to lock it. You are correct you need to lock the spindle to break the nut loose, remember it also might be a left hand thread and not a right hand thread to keep from backing off while spinning.

I just got a reply from my dealer. Apparently it doesn't lock, I just need to hit the wrench with a mallet.

But yeah, I have been looking for a lock pin like you say and there isn't anything like that.

Oddly there is a light on the control that says "Wheel Change" though.

Okay I was wrong. I have seen that done and a guy who was the expert was always using a hammer to take the nuts on and off on the old school ones, but a CNC one going about it the same way wasn't what I was thinking either. Oh well watch your knuckles.
