Windows 10 1709 update issues update

if you folks had updated your windows 10 to the new Version of 1709 and saw delays in mastercam. you will want to look for the new release of today.

I downloaded the Version 1709 Build 16299.214 and this seems to of fixed a lot. this was updated as of today this build.

I am sticking with Win 10 1607 as long as I can.

I have my Win 10 machine at home frozen at 1703 and I'm not having any trouble with it

so I plan on leaving it there as long a possible.

How did you manage that? I couldn't find a way to keep Microsucks from updating mine to the Creators update.

I kept rolling it back & the next day it would have updated it again. Two weeks ago I rolled it back and it bricked my MSI GT72 laptop! Nothing I tried would fix it, I finally had to buy a new M2 SATA stick & loaded Windows 7.

Been rolling back and rolling back and hacking the registry to strip all the hidden Defender stuff also.

go to advanced options on the update page

change the update channel to business

you can also delay feature update 365 days and security updates 30 days

I turned mine off in the group policy editor. Type gpedit in the search bar and it’s under software settings/windows/windows update.

I updated yesterday and wow ... the speed was remarkably different.

That’s the spot Crazy. I was working from memory last night. I set mine to option 5 I believe. It will try to update and just comes up with and error saying it can’t.  This is with version 1511.

Our shop was discussing upgrading to Windows 10. I'm so glad that we stuck with 7.  I hope that we stay with it as long as we can.

EXTREMELY HAPPY THIS IS FIXED!!!

Sorry about the shouting.  I am pretty excited.   That lag was  brutal.

Mastercam 2017 and 2018 running fast and smooth with fully patched Windows 10.

In hind site, I can't think of a single reason to upgrade a Win7 box to Win10

I made the update January 31, 2018-KB4058258 (OS Build 16299.214) and my version of 2107 still does not work. I also tried one 2018 educational and the same. In December 2017 it went. What can it be? Need something to upgrade for mastercam?
