It's not the feedrate in the code that is slowing you down, it is the sheer volume of code being processed through the DNC (Dripfeed).

What are your Line/Arc filter settings?

That is what I was suspecting, we had that problem trying to run HSM code through a drip feed at my last job.

I will upgrade my machine memory this weekend , as I had issues on getting an sram card(for parameters back up) that actually works on my control, then I will be running programs from machine memory only.

But at this stage, I hope to be wrong, but I believe that toolpaths I want to run are "too modern" for the actual machine capabalities , unless there are other parameters which need to be tweaked, the max speed I am running these toolpaths is around 100ipm 2500mm/min.

Hello guys,

Just an update, after many weeks I managed to get my 2mb memory upgrade done on my machine.

It still does not make much difference in terms of motions, machine still struggles a lot where there are many small movement to be processed (0.01mm segments) , slows down about 80% of the programmed feed rate or more.....

Any suggestions, or I just need to forget about it as the machine and control are too old to do what I want to do?

I have run HSm on slow machines .

I ended with using such principles

Lower RPM ,Slower feed with bigger side -off milling

For stainless I used to go up to 1/3 of diameter  and slower feeds

I even used High speed mills with hsm toolpathes

More aggressive filtering  you can filter up to 0.1-0.2 mm and even more if you have enough material for finish
