Hi guys I have a need to cut off contour tabs as a separate operation these tabs are large and need to cut with a  depth step

There seems to be no way to set a depth step although  the function is available , setting a depth step make no difference

changing other functions like top of stock and max depth and lead in lead out all work as expected but not depth step

any idea's thanks.

Myself, I don't think I've ever had a tab thicker than say, .018" and I would think having such a thick tab is not the norn...

I think the answer to this is going to be as such...

When you create a seperate tab cutoff operation the info for the cut comes from the tab cuts op.....most people use very thin tabs to hole the part in place for break out...

As such I would say let it create the seperate finish op and delete that OP, create a simple contour OP for your tab cuts to allow for depths of cut..

I appreciate the understanding of tabs and the need to keep them small so they can be broken or cut

I also can work out methods to accomplish said task by using extra geometry,  but this can be a real pain especially when you are developing a component and the contour is constantly changing from version to version.

The tab function has the option to set the tabs to partial or FULL   if you set the full option you would definitely need a step depth setting.

It seems strange that all functions in the separate operation can be changed and work except for the depth step setting.
