Fanuc - subspindle as tailstock

Recommended Posts

Ahoy!

The things we forget......

We have a subspindle lathe and the operator wants to use a centre in the sub spindle.  The workshop have asked me and I have completely forgotten the correct code for the torque skip and synchronisation of the B axis and sub/main.

Control is a brand new fanuc i-series with ez-guide.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Bruce

I would use a live center in a straight sleeve for this. You can use a dead center, but found just using a live center in a straight sleeve works best. I have even made a sleeve the diameter of the part I am turning then I would remove the sleeve and then grab the part with the jaws already made so I could prep for a center use the center then I would come up grab the part transfer and then I have even used a live center in the main on the same part and then finished out complete. Not something I could get Mastercam to simulate or verify, but I have my ways to accomplish what is needed.
