charmilles cut p550

will I need a custom post to program this within mastercam?

I see there seems to several agie charmilles posts within mc.

wow,this must be the first time ive posted on here without a single reply!

I was under the impression that the cut p-550 was very popular.

I called my mc rep and they said to try the ones provided with mc but we are new to edm and probably would be fumbling with it for a long time.

does anyone know if mc has a specific post just for this machine or do you guys usually modify a post that is provided in mc?

the machine has its own programming system in it but we would like the option of working offline at our desks too.

What little I know about Agie, is that they are not cam friendly, but I may be wrong. I'd invest my time in programming from the machine and generate program from that.

This is not an Agie vision machine.  The New CUT series uses GF's new CUT 2 HMI and is closer to the Charmille side of the family.

Mastercam doesn't have a post that outputs a job (.mjb) file.  However, if you are willing to do the sequencing at the machine you can use a post that generates a Charmille ISO file.  That's how I did it when I worked for GF, but I was on the milling side of the family, so I didn't get much wire time.

Hello, in my company we are interested in buying an edm charmilles cut p pro machine. I would like to know if you have a manual or could you pass me some information about the NC code used by the machine, or some examples of machining. It is to know if the charmilles post we have could be converted to that machine.
