2019 - Model Chamfer

Man, I am loving this new cycle....haven't used it a ton yet....until today it is a go to now

Had a part today that really benefited from using it...a lot of edge breaking up against vertical walls....always doable of course but a lot of finesse with geometry and lead-in/lead out settings...

Today, picked the edges, set a .005" clearance, and let'r rip....perfect result

Just today alone this saved me many minutes

It is a good one. I have all my previous op defaults to import if on the next toolpath, so if i set up a chamfer op and realize i need to re-add another ramp contour before hand, I dont have to faff about making handful of parameter changes.

Model chamfer automates the chamfering process quite well. assuming you chain off of solids.

I just wish you could use spot drills as chamfers in mastercam.

You could define your spot drill as a chamfer tool then use it in that tpath. Mcam doesn't care what's in the description only the initial defined shape.

I just use my chamfer tools as spot drills.
