mastercam.exe not availible under default programs list

I tried to change  the default file type on .stp files to mastercam. I go through the whole

 

change default program

browse

find the program

click on it

nothing happens.

Is it Windows 10 try running it as the administrator

The last time we had a problem with default programs the boss had to put in the admin password to set it.

 

I'm not sure if you have full access to your computer, but we have a cam user logon that has limited permissions

It is probably linked to another program in the registry or if it is a stp file embedded in a PDF, mastercam will not open it due to security.

if it is in the registry your IT admin has to change it. i assume this is your work computer.

I have admin rights on this computer. I tried the regedit stuff and nothing showed up under the folders I thought would be there.
